Silvan opens new city store at Kultorvet

On 13th August Silvan opens a new city store in the heart of Copenhagen at Kultorvet presenting its recently introduced new concept. The opening of the store is going hand-in hand with the recently implemented refurbishments in Fisketorvet and Vejle with a special attention to city inhabitants.

With an investment of over seven million DKK Silvan is opening its new city store at Kultorvet in Copenhagen on Friday 13 August, following its ambitious growth path. The approximately 870 square meters in the heart of Copenhagen contain products of all categories for Do-It-Yourself customers with a special attention to the needs of city inhabitants. Next to the unique product range, Silvan offers various services to its customers, among others paint toning, tool rental, sawmill, key copying, and parcel pick-up. In addition, to ease the transportation of goods, customers can rent cargo bikes for free.

– We have tried to serve the needs of the Copenhagen population in the best possible way with our new city store in Kultorvet. The accompanying service offers provide customers a good opportunity to realize their projects quickly and efficiently, says Rasmus Kjærgaard, CSO of Silvan.

The Silvan Kultorvet store is located in Købmagergade 67-69 1150 København. It is open from 9am until 7pm Monday to Sunday.

– Our team consisting of 15 employees of which 12 just joined the Silvan family is very excited to welcome the customers to the new store and to see how they receive the new concept, says Nicholas Dalgaard, Store Manager at Silvan Kultorvet.

New city store concept

With the newly introduced city store concept, Silvan is aiming to provide a very convenient DIY shopping experience for urban consumers through focusing on special assortments such as moving or household devices. In addition, the broad service offering serves the customer’s demand in a one-stop-shop experience. By implementing a new location system, customers can also easily search for products on Silvan’s webpage and find them fast and easy in the respective shelf in the store. Of course, customers can also use the convenient Click & Collect option. The parcel pick-up service provides customers the option to combine their shopping at Silvan with the pick-up of parcels from their online shopping (Silvan cooperates with GLS, Dao, Bring, DHL, PostNord as well as UPS).

Ongoing store opening & refurbishment program

The opening of the store at Kultorvet is part of the overall growth plan of Silvan which includes both complete refurbishments of existing stores as well as opening new stores. Since December 2020, close to thirty million DKK have been invested into the opening of two new city stores and the complete refurbishment of the stores in Fisketorvet and Vejle. Further openings of 2-3 city stores as well as 2-3 refurbishments are planned for the next 12 months with an overall investment volume of thirty to forty million DKK.
